About Me

Claudia Hernandez is the founder and owner of the Law Office of Claudia Hernandez, PLLC, where she represents clients in immigration and civil matters with skill, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to justice. A seasoned litigator, she has successfully handled complex deportation cases before federal administrative courts and the Board of Immigration Appeals, helping reunite families and protect the rights of vulnerable individuals. Her practice also includes guiding families through adoption proceedings and advocating for survivors of violence.

Before establishing her firm, Claudia served as a Senior Litigation Attorney at a major immigration law firm, and later practiced at a family law firm, where she litigated contested divorces, child‑custody disputes, and adoption cases in Texas state courts. Her broad experience across immigration and civil litigation allows her to approach each case with a deep understanding of both the legal system and the human stories behind it.

Claudia is also a frequent presenter at continuing legal education programs and professional conferences, where she shares her expertise on immigration law, litigation strategy, and community‑centered advocacy. Her commitment to educating fellow practitioners reflects her belief that strong legal representation strengthens families, communities, and the justice system as a whole.

She is an active leader in the legal community. Claudia has served on the board of the State Bar of Texas Immigration and Nationality Law Section—where she also chaired the Padilla Committee—and on the board of the San Antonio Mexican American Bar Association, where she has served as President.

A proud daughter of immigrants, Claudia is deeply committed to public service. She has volunteered with organizations including LULAC, the Southwestern Voter Registration Education Project, MALDEF, and NALEO. She is an alumna of the Latino Center for Leadership Development Academy and the Latina Leadership Institute.

Claudia earned her Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, from the University of Texas at Austin, where she studied Government and Mexican American Studies and completed a certificate in Ethics and Leadership. She received her Doctor of Jurisprudence from Baylor University School of Law.

In addition to her legal practice, Claudia is also a wife and the mother of two bright, spirited children who inspire her daily.
